Bridge Span 14 is Where It’s At

Part of our new healthy happy home commitment means we are doing our best to only eat out once a week, usually on Sundays. For one, it is good for the checkbook, which is good for the Mr.’s stress level, which is good for me. Second, it’s helping me learn to cook, explore in the kitchen, find new healthy recipes, all the while teaching my little Lucy to cook at the same time. Plus, I know the ingredients I am using, and I am watching the weight literally fall off! I’ve lost 15 pounds so far by just plain eating healthy and exercising! With that being said, I would eat at the coolest place in town every day if I could! This little organic cafe of which I daydream about is called Bridge Span 14, and it is most definitely where it’s at!

BridgeSpanThe owners are just cool in their own right. I dig them. They are a husband and wife team, and as you know, I LOVE supporting family businesses. You are most likely to see Andy making a fresh smoothie, cutting open a perfect coconut, and walking around with a smile on his face just being the cool cat that he is. You might not see Leia, but that is only because she is too busy rocking it back in the kitchen. That little mama is one amazing cook! To my understanding, she does most, if not all, of the cooking and preparing. Leia uses ONLY the freshest organic ingredients in all of her edible works of art. I heard one person describe Leia as “poetry in motion.” You never have to worry about what you are eating if it came from Leia’s kitchen.

Here are a few things to know. First of all, when you go to Bridge Span 14, be ready to sit back, relax and enjoy your present company and atmosphere. This is not a fast food restaurant, thank goodness. This is a place where each meal is prepared with love by an amazingly talented chef. Let me tell you, it is worth the wait. Don’t rush it. Put the phone down, have a meaningful conversation, enjoy the laid back atmosphere and listen to the live music, if you are fortunate enough to be there when they have that smooth jazz band playing. Secondly, do you have kids? Well that is no problem. Not only are your kids welcome, but they will most likely be welcomed by Andy and Leia’s own little darling herself. This adorable little girl is growing up in momma and daddy’s restaurant, just the way our two are growing up in Jonesy Works. It is refreshing to see families loving, giving, and living together. Third, check their facebook page for daily specials and updates. Bridge Span 14 is located at 105 Carillon Market Street STE 101, in Carillon Beach, just east of Rosemary & Inlet Beaches.

To quote them directly from their website, “Bridge Span 14 is an organic restaurant ran by husband and wife team, Andy and Leia. The food served is┬áhearty, ORGANIC and made with love. The juices are fresh pressed and the smoothies are custom crafted. Come by to visit with us and have breakfast, lunch or just a little something from the juice bar. We look forward to seeing you!”

I could literally go on and on about how much I love this place, talk about the freshest ingredients and superb taste you will experience, but I think I will let my pictures and video do the talking. Below are pictures that I took myself of just a few of the meals we have recently enjoyed while dining at Bridge Span 14. If you are looking for a healthy, organic, local, fresh, farm to table, dining experience, Bridge Span 14 is most definitely where it’s at! Next time you are in the area, eat at Bridge Span 14. Trust me. Your taste buds will thank you later. Tell them Corie sent you! ENJOY!
